Giving to KLIK Radio is giving to much more than just a radio station. It's giving to an experience for high school students that can't be had anywhere else.
No matter how involved a volunteer becomes, everyone can take something away from their experience. Even if they didn't necessarily get over their fear of public speaking, they may be better at multi-tasking. Maybe they didn't establish a profitable relationship with a neighboring business partner, but they probably strengthened their relationship with their peers.
Those who do become more involved take even more away. Making decisions, making budgets, writing computer programs, designing web sites, soldering audio connections, choosing music, scheduling volunteers, even holding board meetings - it's all a part of the KLIK experience. Through KLIK Radio, many students can take what they learn in their business, computer, tech, and even English classes and apply it to the real world. Working with KLIK answers that famous students' question: "when will I ever use this?"
KLIK Radio allows students to build leadership skills, strengthen their decision-making abilities, and help them realize what they are capable of doing. If these 16-year-olds can manage a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization today, imagine what this experience will allow them to do as an adult.
With a target of 60 pledges, and assuming that all 60 donors decide to give $20/month for 3 months, that's $3,600 that KLIK will raise between July and September. Our general monthly operating expenses, broken down, are...
In addition to general expenses, this pledge drive is going to cover some additional equipment purchases that weren't covered by our Bohemian Foundation grant received in the spring 2010 grant cycle. A portion of the earnings from this pledge drive combined with grant funds and money raised at special events will help pay for:
This represents about $2,800 of equipment investment.
